1 The diagnosed prevalence of 1/500 referred to in recommendation 1.6 has been used as a marker of undiagnosed prevalence of 1/1000, based on historical data showing that one third of people with HIV were undiagnosed. The rate of undiagnosed infection in Scotland is now thought to be approximately 7%.
