Detailed Scotland Heat Map data

The Scotland Heat Map detailed dataset estimates heat demand at individual property level. It includes more information than is made available through the Scotland Heat Map Interactive website. It is a series of spatial datasets intended for GIS (geographic information system) software. This detailed data is shared with local authorities (LAs) and other organisations through data-sharing agreements.

Every local authority in Scotland is given access to the detailed heat map dataset covering their area. We share this data to help them identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions from heat in buildings. The heat map is a key data source for producing Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategies.
