Renewable Electricity Generation

Renewable electricity generation in 2023 Q2 has fallen compared to the same quarter in the previous year, with 5,687 GWh of renewable electricity generated. This means renewable electricity generation in the first half of 2023 is 14.6% lower than at the same point in 2022 (figure 4). This is mainly due to less wind and rain in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

In the first half of 2023, wind generation was 14.7% lower and hydro generation was 21.2% lower compared to the same period in 2022 (figure 5).
