Obesity indicators 2012

This publication reports the latest results for the indicators selected to monitor progress of the Scottish Government’s Prevention of Obesity Route Map

[3] Between 2001 and 2006, the increase in numbers was partly due to improved recording. Since 2007, we are confident the data are a reflection of a real increase in numbers. (Scottish Diabetes Survey 2009)

[4] Note that the recommendation guidelines changed in 2008. Previously the 30 minutes could be accumulated in periods of at least 15 minutes, but this was changed to periods of at least 10. This change did not lead to a significant revision to the proportion of adults meeting the recommendation.
