Education Maintenance Allowances 2012-13

35,515 young people aged 16-19 received an EMA payment in Scotland in 2012-13. This is an increase of 3.3% (1,125) since the previous academic year.  The number of young people from deprived areas receiving EMA in 2012-13 is also at a record high of 26%.
