Curriculum for Excellence - Excellence Groups

Excellence Groups were established to consider what makes for excellence in subjects, and in skills development, across learning. The Groups have met a number of times since summer 2010, and have now prepared their final reports. There are 15 reports on subjects and curriculum areas, alongside an overarching report on health and wellbeing, and a report on Higher Order Skills. The reports are varied, highlighting the specific issues as each Group addressed them. They are presented to stimulate debate, discussion and reflection on what excellence means in the context of Curriculum for Excellence.

As well as the subject reports, there is a copy of the interim report on the work of the Groups as a whole as it stood in autumn 2010; and a report about the contribution made by young people from Port Glasgow, who, facilitated by Space Unlimited, offered a learners' perspective on excellence.

The introductory article by Michael Russell, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, sets the reports in a broader context.

A list of the members of each group is also available.
