Recruitment

In Wave 102, businesses not permanently stopped trading were asked if they had experienced any difficulties recruiting employees in January 2024.

Figure 1: Difficulties in recruiting employees had been experienced by an estimated 24.5% of applicable businesses reported difficulties in recruiting employees in January 2024 - down from 28.5% in Wave 100 and the lowest percentage reported since the question was introduced in April 2022. The highest rates of recruitment difficulties were reported by businesses in the Construction (31.4%) and Manufacturing sectors (29.0%).
