Introduction to Excel versions of tables
NB: If you don't have Excel, a free viewer is available - for more information about this, click on the "Viewer Help" link that appears on the "File Download" stage.
This section contains the spreadsheets from our range of publications.
Further information on these publications is available on the Transport and Travel Publications page.
Notes
Before using the Excel versions, please note:
most of the spreadsheets were developed solely to produce tables for the publications - not for ease of use of the figures
as well as the published information, they may contain other numbers and formulas (some included just for checking purposes)
these may be in hidden rows or hidden columns, which may be within the body of the table
or they may appear in the spreadsheet outwith the print area, or in hidden sheets in the workbook
any such "unpublished" figures may be unreliable (e.g. they may be out of date, or contain "typos"). So, to avoid possible errors, you should USE ONLY THE NUMBERS WHICH APPEAR IN THE PUBLISHED VERSIONS OF THE TABLES.
To use the Excel versions: pick the publication(s) of interest to you, using the navigation bar on the left of the screen.
Some other points on the Excel versions:
1. Two or more tables will be on the same spreadsheet if they appear on the same page of the publication.
2. A workbook may contain several spreadsheets - for a number of tables and associated charts
3.Macros: the spreadsheets do not use macros. You can click on "Disable macros" in the unlikely event that you are asked whether you want to enable or disable macros
4.Links to other workbooks: the spreadsheets do not use links to other workbooks, so you should answer "no" if you are asked if you want to update the workbook with changes made to another workbook.
5. Some spreadsheets may be linked to other spreadsheets within the same workbook
