Source: As reported to the Scottish Executive by local authorities.
1 Excludes water and sewerage. All data are provisional.
2 Excludes loan charges. All inter account and inter authority transfers
are deducted from expenditure.
3 Revenue income does not include income of £1,326 million from non-domestic
rates, £3,520 million from Revenue Support Grant, as defined in Appendix B of
the Local Government Finance (Scotland) Order 1998 and as returned by local
authorities, Council Tax income of £1,070 million and Council Tax rebate grants
of £260million. It does include other government grants of £120 million.
4 Excludes capital expenditure which is financed from revenue. Capital
is recorded on a cash basis (not accruals) so this information relates to capital

income from sale of assests.

fund contributions to housing and other services.
6 The income figures include £91 million of income from Health boards,
Trusts and other public bodies.
7 For revenue expenditure, includes airports, harbours and piers (except
fishing harbours).
8 For capital expenditure, includes commercial ports,
piers, fishery and other harbours.
