1. Residual life represents the number of years to elapse before the pavement reaches the stage when it may be necessary to undertake relatively more expensive reconstruction rather than strengthening to restore its full life.
2. The Base network is a fixed sample of roads which are surveyed every four years.
3. Surveyed network is the length of the network which has been surveyed and which is increasing year by year as the target of complete survey coverage is achieved
