ANNEX
LIST OF AREAS COVERED BY PREMIUM AND ALL PURPOSE UNITS

Following the reorganisation of local government in April 1996, "premium" and "all purpose" management units were set up to manage certain routes on the Scottish trunk road network. The following lists Councils whose areas include parts of the routes that were managed by each of the units in the period up to March 2001 (with effect from 1 April 2001 new arrangements were introduced). Because routes managed by different units may have run into the area of the same council, some council names appear within more than one unit. (NB: In addition, some Motorway in South West Scotland is managed by "Autolink".)
