1. Excludes Campbeltown and Barra in some earlier years. 'Freight' excludes them
pre-1994 and 1996 respectively (see table 9.7) and 'Aircraft movements' excludes
them pre-1999 (see table 9.11). The 'terminal passengers' part of this table shows
the years for which there are passenger numbers for them.
2. In cases where the ownership of an airport has changed during the period covered
by the table, it is counted on the basis of its ownership in the latest year.
Tables 9.13 and 9.14 indicate which airports were HIAL airports and BAA airports
in the latest year
3. Including UK offshore flights.
4. For 2000 and earlier years, air taxi movements were counted under domestic
and International aircraft movements. From 2001, this breakdown is no longer available.
They have therefore been shown separately for 2001 onwards.
* The Civil Aviation Authority has revised the passenger figures for 2000, which
therefore differ from those published last year.
$ The Civil Aviation Authority has revised the freight figures for the previous
years, which therefore differ from those published last year.
