Mental Health Nursing Review: monthly updates

Brief updates on the work of the Scottish Mental Health Nursing Review for mental health nurses and other stakeholders who are interested in the work of the Review.


April 2024 update

Recent activities:

  • we have had two meetings of our Review Steering Group
  • our Leadership Advisory and Practitioner Reference Groups are taking shape
  • the Review website is up and running
  • we have called for submissions of examples of positive and innovative practice
  • we have commissioned and received reports from Voices of Experience (VOX) and the Carers Trust offering their perspectives on mental health nursing
  • we have developed an engagement pack to support local events as part of our National Mental Health Nursing Conversation

 Next steps include:

  • finalise planning for our National Mental Health Nursing Conversations which will start later in April. This will be a significant focus for the next stage of the Review
  • make our literature review available via a digital workspace called Objective Connect
  • finalise the membership of our Leadership Advisory and Practitioner Reference Groups
  • engage with our Leadership Advisory and Practitioner Reference Groups on the reports received from VOX and Carers Trust
  • secure a new Review chair, as our current chair is stepping down from this role
