Dear Colleagues

Next meeting: 28 March 2022

The Oversight Group look forward to seeing you - and in some cases, your deputies - at our next meeting on Monday 28 March at 11:00. I am writing in advance of the meeting, to set out the business we would like to discuss.

The Oversight Group are aware from the individual contact we have had with you over recent weeks, and from our reading, that you are making progress on integration. This is particularly in respect of the fact that, as we understand it, a final draft Integration Scheme is imminently to be signed off to go out to consultation by the respective Public Bodies involved.

With that in mind, integration will therefore be the main item of business at our meeting on 28 March. It would be good to hear about overall progress on the revised Schemes and in particular it would be useful if you could address those revised and/or new parts of the Schemes, including within the Annexes, which clarify roles and responsibilities and set out where decisions are going to be made on delegated functions. If there are any continuing areas of difference and disagreement between the Parties, it would be prudent for you outline those to us. Finally, David wrote to you on the 28 January on this issue, setting out areas for your continuing consideration. It would be useful to hear where you are collectively up to, in your consideration of those issues.

Can I suggest that the most valuable way to structure the discussion on 28 March, would be for the Oversight Group to receive a presentation from you on these points, followed by an open discussion.

An agenda and papers for the meeting will be issued by the Secretariat shortly, under separate cover.

With my thanks and best wishes.
