PROJECT PROGRESS

2 PFI projects have signed since the fourth edition:-

These Projects are:-

• Glasgow Southern General Hospital Geriatric Medicine Assessment Facility (capital value £11m)
• Dundee Ninewells Psychiatric Services (capital value £10m)

In addition, at the end of August, the MoD completed negotiations on its second housing project in Scotland. The work undertaken for the Defence Housing Executive (the MoD agency responsible for the provision of service family accommodation in England, Scotland and Wales), will involve the design, construction, financing and management of 164 married quarters for MoD personnel. All the houses will be located in the central belt of Scotland, with 103 built in the east and 61 in the west.

The private sector partner is Bannockburn Homes (a consortium comprising Mowlem and Charterhouse), funded by the Bank of Ireland.

Edinburgh Law firm Robson McLean managed legal negotiations on behalf of the MoD (also involved in the MoD’s first housing PFI at RAF Lossiemouth) and Deloitte & Touche provided financial advice.

This will not include projects such as the MoD project detailed above because these do not fall within the remit of the Scottish Executive. We rely on feedback to keep the data as accurate as possible, so please advise us of any updates, corrections or omissions, which we will include in our next edition.
