Appendix 2 Statutory Equality Bodies

UK anti-discrimination law has created agencies to review the operation of the legislation, promote equal opportunities and submit proposals to amend legislation as required by the Secretary of State or as otherwise thought appropriate.

These agencies have a remit throughout England, Wales and Scotland (Northern Ireland has its own Equality Commission), but all three have offices in Scotland and Commissioners with special responsibility for Scotland.
