Chapter 13 Next steps
174. Following a period of consultation this paper has presented our policy
proposals for the regulation of care services, including early education, and
the social services workforce.
175. As noted in the foreword if you do have comments on this paper please
send them to Roddy Macdonald, Community Care Division, Scottish Executive Health
Department, Room 43, James Craig Walk, Edinburgh EH1 3BA, email roddy.macdonald@scotland.gov.uk.
Unless specified in the response we will assume all contributions may be made
public and can be deposited in the Scottish Executive library. We are not setting
a particular date for comments but would appreciate early submission of any
views as this will enable us to give them full consideration in drafting legislation.
176. The next stage in the process of taking our proposals forward is to
publish a Bill later this year. In the meantime we will continue to work with
the Reference Group on the development of the proposals and the Implementation
Unit will take forward issues such as staffing, office location and information
technology.
