We need to see a different world emerging, one in which: a sense of quality design is part of children's education; professionals are trained to appreciate the complexity of places; the planning system is used creatively to set frameworks for development; developers know that the effort they put into coming up with a good design will be appreciated; and where bad design is no longer acceptable. This policy statement has outlined a shift in attitudes, expectations and practices that is already under way. Everyone involved in development can play a part in designing places. good design will be appreciated
