3.2 Accommodation within the Unit comprised ten single cells, all of which had integral sanitation and electrical power. The latter enabled television sets and other small electrical items to be used. We noted, however, that whilst they were being reasonably well maintained, many were "cluttered".
3.3 The remainder of the accommodation comprised a recreation/dining area, classroom, a covered court yard "quiet" area, a particularly well equipped gymnasium, a spacious general purpose workshop and a brightly decorated visits area. There was a separate administrative area with staff offices to which prisoners did not have access. Outside the Unit, but within its perimeter wall, were exercise and garden areas.
3.4 The overall impression was of a clean and well ordered facility. It was apparent that considerable effort had gone into maintaining high housekeeping standards, particularly in the recreation, activity and accommodation areas.
