143. This consultation paper builds on the proposals in the White Paper Aiming for Excellence in setting out an exciting agenda for the modernising of social work and care services in Scotland. Your views are important to us and will help shape the final bodies which emerge from the legislation. There will be a further opportunity for involvement when the draft Bill is published. This is expected to be in summer 2000.
144. We invite individuals and organisations to respond to the issues in this consultation paper by 10 March 2000. Copies of responses will be made available in the Scottish Executive library. We will assume that responses to this paper may be made publicly available unless respondents request confidentiality. After we have assessed the comments received we shall issue a Policy Position Paper, which will be made widely available.
