Some notes to help in interpreting the data in these tables

When reading the notes on the fold-out section, you should bear in mind that many independent schools offer a range of certification instead of, or additional to, SCE, CSYS and NC certification. Such schools are marked in the tables, as shown on the page opposite.

Many independent schools take in significant numbers of pupils at S5. This has the result that staying on rates calculated on the basis of the S4 roll the previous session can be very high, over 100% in a number of cases.

Note A:	Independent schools which make no presentations for SCE, CSYS and NC certification are not included in the list.
Note B:	Schools marked by make presentations for GCSE and/or A level examinations as well as SCE and CSYS.*
Note C:	Schools marked by ø make presentations for A Level examinations in S6 instead of, or in addition to, CSYS.
Note D:	No averages are given because of the factors described in Notes A-C.
