Part 1: Examination Results

Summary

Schools are listed alphabetically by education authority. Schools listed are those that were open in September 1999.

   

The great majority of schools offer education from S1-S6. Where this does not apply, the stages offered are printed after the school name.

   

Results shown are as follows. In each case, figures for 1997, 1998 and 1999 are given.

 

1. % S4 roll gaining 5+ Standard Grades at 1-2 (Credit)

2. % S4 roll gaining 5+ Standard Grades at 1-4 (Credit or General)

3. % S4 roll gaining 5+ Standard Grades at 1-6 (Credit, General or Foundation)

4. % S3/S4 year groups gaining 1+ National Certificate modules (full success)

5. % S4 year group gaining 1+ Higher Grades at Bands A-C in S5

6. % S4 year group gaining 3+ Higher Grades at Bands A-C in S5

7. % S4 year group gaining 5+ Higher Grades at Bands A-C in S5

8. % S5/S6 year groups gaining 1+ National Certificate modules (full success)

9. % S5/S6 year groups gaining 3+ National Certificate modules (full success)

10. % S4 year group gaining 2+ Higher Grades at Bands A-C in S6

11. % S4 year group gaining 1+ CSYS at Bands A-C in S6

 

Also included, as the single column of figures immediately after the school name, is the total secondary school roll according to the school census in September 1998.

 

The figures for the estimated percentage of S4 pupils staying at school beyond Christmas in S5 are also provided.

 

Education authority and national figures are shown at the end of each list of education authority schools.

 

Graphs allowing comparisons between performance in each education authority and the national average performance are included on each page.

 

Results for independent schools and a grant-aided school follow the education authority lists.

 

Some schools may present pre-S4 pupils for Standard Grade and/or pre-S5 pupils for Higher Grade. Such presentations are not included in the lists which follow
