The table refers to the length of time people wait from the day the hospital receives a request for an outpatient appointment with a consultant until the day of their appointment.

Any patient whose length of wait is not known or where a Patient’s Charter guarantee exception applies are excluded.

Only referrals from general medical practitioners (GMPs) or general dental practitioners (GDPs) have been included in order to more accurately present information on the "normal" referral pattern experienced by patients. The red and blue colour codes highlight changes in the corresponding figures presented in last year’s Report. Figures shown in blue are at least five percentage points higher than in the previous year, and figures in red are at least five percentage points lower.

An "x" in a cell indicates that there was no service to report against that specialty.

An "||" in a cell indicates that the figure has been suppressed as the denominator is less than 100.
