APPENDIX D: SCOTTISH CRIME SQUAD GOALS 1999/2000
GOAL ONE
To increase the number of arrests of those individuals
engaged in serious, series and organised crime and/or to disrupt their criminal
activities.
Performance Indicators
- To establish a matrix of quality indicators
in order to fully evaluate the status of criminal targeted by the Squad.
- The number of core and significant nominals
arrested and the number of ancillary individuals arrested.
- The value of drugs, property and assets seized.
- The extent of disruption to criminal activity
achieved.
GOAL TWO
To increase the number of specialist operations
facilitated by the Scottish Crime Squad.
Performance Indicators
- Number of operations facilitated by the Squad.
GOAL THREE
To increase the asset confiscation service provision
to operational teams.
Performance Indicators
- Total value of assets restrained or seized.
- Number of financial profiles compiled.
- Number of proactive enquiries undertaken.
- Number of officers undergoing asset confiscation
training.
GOAL FOUR
To upgrade the existing computer network within
the Scottish Technical Support Unit to improve efficiency and to increase the
provision of support equipment and expertise to the Scottish Forces by 5%.
Performance Indicators
- Implement upgrading procedures for the computer
network system ensuring compatibility with systems in place throughout the
Scottish Police Service.
- Detailed measurement of service provision.
