Obtaining Maintenance from Abroad

Annex D.

FLOWCHARTS

flow chart 1

* Some states are not included. States that do not accept Part I orders might accept Part II applications.

When we mention the sheriff clerk or sheriff court this should be read as the Deputy Principal Clerk of Session or the Court of Session, where appropriate.

Remember: even if you have a Scottish order, that will not stop you making an application to a country for a court hearing if that country will allow it. You can ignore your Scottish order and start again abroad if you wish.
