ANNEX I

Maps of Grant-Aided Schools

Map 1 indicates the location of all seven Grant Aided Special Schools in Scotland. All of these schools are situated in the 'central belt'. They are either in The City of Edinburgh or in one of the ex-Strathclyde regions.

Maps 2 to 8 show the distribution of the funding Local Authority for pupils attending each Grant Aided School. These illustrate the distribution of all pupils based at these schools regardless of their SLID category or whether they have a Record of Needs.

Most of the pupils attending Grant Aided special schools are funded from Local Authorities situated in the 'Central belt'. Local Authorities situated out-with the 'Central belt' appears to fund a small number, between 1 and 4 pupils at some grant aided special schools.
