9.1 The following table shows the attainment of the former ASCETT targets through qualifications achieved at school for the past 6 years. At the present time, the national training targets are being reviewed. It should be noted that the table takes account of the attainment of targets through either the academic (SCE qualifications) or vocational route (National Certificate modules).
9.2 The number of school leavers leaving with qualifications at level 2 or better, increased from 56 per cent in 1992-93 to 62 per cent in 1997-98. About one-third of school leavers achieved level 3 in 1997; after falling from 35 per cent to 31 per cent between 1993 and 1994, the percentage subsequently improved reaching 32 per cent in 1997-98. In the same period, the number leaving with no qualification (SCE or NC) fell from 7 per cent to 3 per cent.
