Subjects taken at Standard Grade for pupils at S4 stage in 1997-98
4.1 Table 6 shows the numbers of awards for subjects taken at Standard Grade in S4. For English, about 93 per cent of the S4 roll gained an award @ 1-6, with 88 per cent gaining an award @ 1-4 and 37 per cent gaining an award @ 1-2. For Mathematics, the percentage of awards @ 1-6 was slightly lower (92 per cent) but the percentages @ 1-4 and @ 1-2 were substantially lower (66 per cent and 29 per cent) compared to English.
