1 Ml/d = Megalitres per day = 1,000 m3/d.
2 Almost all water supplied by Public Authorities is "potable" ie fit for drinking. Limited amounts of water, referred to as "non-potable", are supplied separately to some consumers for industrial purposes and are not intended for drinking.
3 Figures are taken over the 12 month period commencing 1 April in the year stated.
4 Metered supplies in general relate to commercial and industrial use and unmetered to domestic use, smaller trade supplies, temporary supplies and leakage.
