| The Scottish Abstract of Statistics is designed to be the major reference volume for statistics on life in Scotland. Within the fifteen chapters, many of the tables show series for a number of years whilst others give information at local authority level. This publication is produced with the assistance of a number of government departments and other organisations. | |

These sources are clearly presented at the bottom of each table, chart or map and the corresponding contact names and telephone numbers are printed at the rear of the publication. | |
