The Scottish Abstract of Statistics No 26,1998
The Scottish Abstract of Statistics is designed to be the major reference volume for statistics on life in Scotland. Within the fifteen chapters, many of the tables show series for a number of years whilst others give information at local authority level. This publication is produced with the assistance of a number of government departments and other organisations.
Further details about any of the information printed in the publication is available from the source of the information. These sources are clearly presented at the bottom of each table, chart or map and the corresponding contact names and telephone numbers are printed at the rear of the publication.
In addition, this publication will also be available for viewing on The Scottish Office website (http://www.scotland.gov.uk/). Each of the fifteen chapters will be positioned within the current Government Statistical Service Pillar Structure:

Land.
