(1) Automatic detection came into force on 1 April 1993. During 1993 only Strathclyde police force had automatic detection facilities in operation. By 1994 six of the eight forces had automatic detection facilities in operation and by the second half of 1995 all forces had automatic detection facilities in operation.
(2) Other offences include vehicle excise licence, parking, motorway traffic, seat belt and other motor vehicle offences.
