(1) The following offences have been included: speeding, traffic direction, seat belt, driver's contravention of pedestrian crossing regulations, lighting and construction and use offences. It is assumed that these are the only offences for which persons may be given conditional offers of fixed penalties.
(2) The figure represents 9 months data only as police offers of fixed penalties were only introduced in April 1983.
