The Working Group |
| 1.1 The
Working Group was established by Mr Brian Wilson MP,
Minister of State at The Scottish Office, in February
1998. |
| The Working
Group's remit was: |

| "To consider a national strategy for
community based adult education, youth work and
educational support for community development in the
light of Government priorities in relation to social
inclusion and lifelong learning and advise Ministers on
future arrangements. The Group will work alongside the
CoSLA (Convention of Scottish Local
Authorities) Community Education Task Group which is
considering a range of issues facing local authority
community education provision." |

membership of the Group is shown in the Appendix. The
Group's work was greatly helped by the papers written by
members, a selection of which will be published by SCEC
and will be made available on request. |
