Landscape Design and Management
Project Design Division employ designated landscape advisors to ensure compliance with the landscape requirements of the DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and CEL:LFN (Cost Effective Landscape: Learning from Nature) in all stages of the road development process.
Cost Effective Landscape:
Learning from Nature

Cost Effective Landscape: Learning from Nature is the Scottish Office's new landscape design and management policy created to inspire innovative landscape design contributing to sustainable and best value objectives.

The procedure is currently illustrated by a number of case studies and examples compiled from the trunk road estate.

The Scottish Office wishes to expand these examples on its website by including short case studies from landscape architects, ecologists, engineers or anyone who has a good story to share.

Please use this opportunity and send A4 examples of the CEL:LFN philosophy to the Head of Standards, Traffic and Environment, Project Design Division, The Scottish Office, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ
