The amount of housing grant you may get will depend, in most cases, on your
income. These web pages will give you an estimate of how much you might
get.
You must contact your local authority to check whether the works you plan to
do are likely to be eligible for a grant. These web pages only give an outline
of the grants system and you should contact the local authority for full details
before making any commitments.
If :-
- you live in the house where the work is to be done; or
- you intend to live there when the work is completed; or
- you own the house and a member of your family lives there or intends to
live there
you can use the following pages to check how much grant you may get. The
amount of grant is calculated as a percentage of the cost of works approved by
the local authority – these pages will tell you what percentage you may
receive.
Please note this is only an estimate. The local authority will need to check
that the information you give is correct. There may also be additional factors
which affect the amount of grant you may receive. It is for the local authority
to decide whether to give a grant in each individual case.
Please take care not to enter any information twice. For example, if you and
your partner have any joint income, you may either enter the full amount under
one person's details, or half the amount each. Do not enter the full amount
under both, or it will be counted twice.
