(i) 10 DAY INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR CONVICTED PRISONERS

DAY 1

(arrival at receptions)

Reception procedures;

ID card issued, Property stored, PIN allocated, Shop information,

Offer of £3.00 advance

Interview with reception officer – Basic rules explained

Prisoner handbook issued

Interview with nurse

Introduction to wing officer and basic wing procedures explained

DAY 2

(on Wing)

Prisoner meets Medical Officer at Healthcare centre
DAY 3 & 4

(Education dept.)

Fire evacuation procedures

PE Induction

Code of conduct

Anti-bullying

Prisoners ID cards

Applications and requests

Regime plan

Prisoners wages and accounts

Workplace rules and regulations

Workplace Health & Safety Awareness session

Fire evacuation procedures

Quality assurance briefing

Job specific training

DAY 6-10

(Workplace)

Prisoner attends workplace and is supervised by a Workplace P.C.O. and other "Inductor" prisoners during this initial training period

(ii) 2 DAY INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR REMAND PRISONERS

DAY 1

(arrival at reception)

Reception procedures;

ID card issued, Property stored, PIN allocated, Shop information,

Offer of £3.00 advance

Interview with nurse

Interview with reception officer – Basic rules explained and Compact signed

Introduction to wing officer and basic wing procedures explained

DAY 2

Prisoner meets Medical Officer at Healthcare centre

Custody Plan introduced

Interview with the wing officer

(iii) 8 DAY INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR CONVICTED PRISONERS SENTENCED TO LESS THAN 29 DAYS

DAY 1

Offer of £3.00 advance

Prisoner handbook issued

Interview with nurse

Interview with reception officer – Basic rules explained and Compact signed
