Dangerous Dogs Act: short life working group

Overview

A short life working group was established to assist with taking forward our commitment, as set out in the Programme for Government 2021, to review the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (“the 1991 Act”) to inform future policy thinking and possible policy reforms to tackle irresponsible dog ownership in our communities.

The Scottish Government led working group has undertaken its review of the 1991 Act. We are now considering the wide range of views offered to determine what may be appropriate as next steps.
