Acknowledgements

The European Language Initiative (TELI) gratefully acknowledges the excellent advice, guidance and support of the project’s Management Group throughout the contract.

The TELI editorial and compilation team has greatly benefited from the help of its consultants’ group at all stages of the project and wishes to express sincere thanks for the considerable amount of work undertaken by our colleagues.

We have been most fortunate to enjoy the support of the staff of Comunn na Gàidhlig whose outstanding administration, financial management and friendly assistance have ensured the smooth running of the project.

The team warmly thanks Professor William Gillies of Edinburgh University for the hospitality of his department and his personal advice and encouragement.

We were most grateful for the hospitality received from Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, (the Western Isles Council), and the welcome given to us by the Convenor and the Chief Executive. The Comhairle, Edinburgh University and BBC Craoladh nan Gàidheal have been generous in releasing staff to contribute to our work.

We are pleased to record our thanks to Professor Cathair Ó Dochartaigh for his collaboration on the preparation of the tender and on policy matters in the formative stages of the project.

The budget for the project was provided by the Scottish Executive, Comunn na Gàidhlig and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, with further contributions from the Gaelic Society of Inverness and the Gaelic Language Promotion Trust, whose support we acknowledge with gratitude.
