Over the next three years, the Scottish Executive is committed to a rapid expansion of access to computer equipment in our schools. We believe that increased use of information and communications technology (ICT) will bring significant benefits to both teachers and pupils. However, we recognise that it can also can bring risks and we are aware of public concern over possible threats to our children.

As with any activity, there are sensible steps which can be taken to avoid these risks and the aim of this pack is to clarify the potential risks and empower teacher and pupils to use the Internet in a safe and informed way.
