Following the publication of the Cook Review, we are now able to implement part of the first of the key Rural Priorities recommendations - the option to 'bypass the Statement of Intent (SoI) stage'.
As a first step towards achieving this recommendation, applicants can now speed up the application process by bypassing the SoI assessment and feedback stage. A further step; the option to completely bypass the SoI part of the application within the online data capture system, will go live with amended guidance in the near future.
Applicants and agents must complete / capture the full details of their application in the SoI but will be able to opt out of receiving Case Officer assessment and feedback on the details of their application. This shortened approach will speed up the process of applying for funding under Rural Priorities but applicants should be aware that choosing to bypass the SoI assessment and feedback is done at their own risk.
Anyone wishing to opt out of Case Officer assessment and feedback of the SoI must enter the following statement in the Summary Case Details box: "I/we do not wish for this Statement of Intent to be assessed by a Case Officer or receive any feedback from them. I/we understand that I/we take full responsibility, and any associated risks, in progressing this case to Proposal Submit without the support and added value of a Case Officer."
For further information see the SoI guidance.
