New ways to keep up to date with SRDP - 28 August 2009
News on the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) can now be accessed through new and innovative means.
Using the much talked-about social media website Twitter, the SRDP team will now be 'tweeting' news on SRDP (as well as Scotland's Environmental and Rural Services, or SEARS) regularly at www.twitter.com/ruralscotland.
Twitter is easy to use and information on how new users can sign up for free is available by following the above link. Twitter allows users who sign up to 'follow' another user - such as @ruralscotland - to see their latest updates as they are made.
Furthermore, the Rural Priorities guidance update pages now have an RSS feed which you can use to keep up to date with any changes to scheme guidance.
To get started, you need to copy and paste the web address for the RSS feed into an RSS reader (also called an aggregator), which will then automatically receive notification when new content is added to the site. More information on RSS can be found on the Scottish Government's What is RSS? page.
RSS is also free to use, and like Twitter, an effective way of getting instant updates on new developments to SRDP.
Users can also still sign up for general farming and rural issues updates through our eNewsletter.
