The SRDP website was updated with details of new payment rates that were approved through a modification to the EC in February 2009. Work has now been completed in both the Front and Back Office I.T. systems to facilitate the delivery of most of these new rates in contracts issued after 17 April 2009.
The changes that applicants/agents will find when completing new Proposals are detailed below
There have been three additions to the list of available Standard Cost Capital items that can be selected under each of the above Options. These new capital items can be selected on any proposals that have not yet been Committed. These are
"Heather Restoration" has also been added to the list of available Standard Cost Capital items for this Option.
"Provision of Bat and Bird boxes" has also been added to the list of available Standard Cost Capital items for this Option.
- Woodland Improvement Grant - Restructuring Regeneration Option
The name of the Standard Cost Capital item "Restructuring with other conifers" has been changed to "Restructuring with diverse conifers".
The Back Office System has also been updated with the above changes. Contracts issued from 17th April onwards will include the new payment rates .
Details of changes to the Back Office payment calculations are
The intervention rate for all Standard Cost Capital items has been increased from 70% to 100% resulting in a higher payment rate for all Capital items under the following Options:-
- Woodland Improvement Grant - Non Woodland Habitats
- Woodland Improvement Grant - Woodland Habitat & Species Option:-
- Woodland Improvement Grant - Reducing Deer Impact Option
- Woodland Improvement Grant - Long Term Forest Planning Option.
Woodland Improvement Grant - Long Term Forest Planning Option
A minimum payment of £400 and a maximum payment of £15,000 has been introduced for the Standard Cost Capital item "Forest Plan Preparation".
The payment rate for the Standard Cost Capital item "Restructuring with Caledonian Scots Pine" has been changed from £313 /ha to £385/ ha.
Short Rotation Coppice crops of willow or poplar in
LFA Option.
The maximum payment has been changed to £1,000/ ha and the actual cost calculation is based on a 50% intervention rate.
Short Rotation Coppice crops of willow or poplar in Non
LFA Option
The maximum payment has been changed to £1,000/ ha and the actual cost calculation is based on a 40% intervention rate.

The remaining payment rate changes contained within the new payment rate document on the SRDP "What's New" pages will be implemented as soon as we can. A further update will be placed on the Scottish Government SRDP web pages when these modifications have been carried out.
