Key Milestones
The Scottish Government has set out an indicative timetable of Key Milestones to be achieved to secure the delivery of the Programme in 2014.
Introduction of the Programme will be subject to the timing of the relevant European Institutions agreeing the required regulatory framework, and the subsequent period required to secure European Commission approval of the SRDP. The following links take you to the relevant European Institutions if you wish to learn more about the regulatory framework and process:
European Commission
Council of the European Union, Agriculture and Fisheries Council
European Parliament, Agriculture and Rural Development Committee
Ex-Ante Evaluation and Strategic Environmental Assessment
The Scottish Government have selected Agra CEAS Consulting Ltd. to carry out an ex-ante evaluation in conjunction with Scottish Agricultural Colleges and Collingwood Environmental Planning Ltd. The aim of the ex-ante evaluation will be to ensure that the objectives and targets set out in the SRDP are realistic and attainable. The ex-ante evaluation will also include a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
Stakeholder Engagement
2 Programme Development Events and 8 working groups, involving a range of internal Scottish Government policy experts and external stakeholder representatives, met during 2012 to take forward the initial development of consultation proposals for SRDP 2014-2020. More information on these working groups can be found using in the links below and at the left hand side of this page.
Draft proposals are being discussed both internally and with a broader range of stakeholders to ensure all issues are addressed. They will then be submitted to ministers for approval to publish the consultation document in 2013, with a view to having a programme agreed with the European Commission in 2014.
