Key statistics on Rural Priorities - 16 November 2009
August round
- At the most recent assessment round in August, 718 applications were considered for funding, with 640 projects approved (89%) in full or in part
- Total funding approved for August round is £36.6 million.
- In the August round regional committees recommended for approval over £28 million of direct capital investment in Scotland's farming and other rural businesses .
- They also recommended a further £8 million of funding for agri-environment priorities, to improve and protect Scotland's natural environment.
Rural Priorities overall
- We have received over 8,500 Statements of Intent for Rural Priorities in the 18 months since this first stage of the application process was launched. See stages explained
- 5,500 of these have already progressed to the Proposals stage
- 2,993 of these cases have already been considered in the first 5 assessment rounds
- 2,500 of these cases have been approved in full or in part - nearly 84% of all cases considered to date
- A total of £157 million of funding has already been approved under Rural Priorities.
