Organic Standards

  • In both options you must undertake to farm to the recognised organic standards as laid out by EU Regulations and the UK Compendium of Organic Standards. You must be registered with an approved organic Certification Body for the duration of the agreement. Further information regarding organic standards and a list of the approved Certification Bodies can be found at http://www.defra.gov.uk/farm/organic/standards/index.htm.
  • Should the EU standards, or the UK standards be revised, you will need to meet any additional requirements that may be introduced. If you do not meet these standards and/or remain registered with a Certification Body we will instigate breach procedures.
  • If you wish to register your land with a different organic Certification Body, you must do so before you de-register the land with the existing Certification Body, so that there is continuity of registration.
  • If you wish to revert to non-organic methods on any of your land, including land that was converted before you started your agreement, you will be liable to repay any payments already received, plus interest.
