What are Compatible Options?
Compatible Options are two or more Options for land management which can receive payments on the same piece of land. These Options can be from Rural Development Contracts, or can be continuing claims under older schemes such as Rural Stewardship Scheme or Organic Aid Scheme.
For example, you could apply under RDC to carry out two separate Options. Providing these are compatible, we would pay you for both Options on the same piece of land.
If you currently receive payments under other schemes, such as Rural Stewardship Scheme or Organic Aid Scheme, you can still submit an application for Rural Development Contracts (RDC) on the same piece of land, as long as the Options you are applying for are compatible with your existing commitments under the other schemes.
All the schemes you join can run along side each other, but you cannot be paid under more than one scheme for the same land if the Options are not compatible. We will cross check all applications and claims made for RDC for Land Managers Options (LMO) and Rural Priorities (RP), to make sure this does not happen. This is required under Article 11 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1698 / 2005.
If you are in any doubt about the compatibilities of the Option(s) you are considering, please contact your local FCS, RPID or SNH office for guidance.
