This table shows the regional priorities relevant to the region you have selected.

Each regional priority has a unique code (column one) which will help you to identify your selected priorities when completing your Statement of Intent/Proposal.

The detailed description (column two) has been provided to help you understand the implications and outcomes being sought by each priority.

The package numbers (column three) will help you to cross reference those relevant packages to the regional priority you have selected, with the full list of packages detailed on the right hand side of the page.

Improved viability and well being of Scotland's rural communities. Particularly proposals that:

  • support the provision of buildings and facilities for local communities, where the need and demand has been clearly demonstrated
  • encourage communities to increase their capacity to sustain and promote economic development, e.g. through the ownership and development of small business space, involving the use of historic buildings, etc.
  • help communities to meet service needs identified through community planning
  • help communities to take over delivery of local services from existing public service providers, using community ownership or other forms of business models that encourage self sufficiency and sustainability
  • encourage social enterprise and community-led service provision, particularly where this assists in sustaining a key local service or facility.

Sustainable, resilient rural communities, which are empowered and encouraged to take a positive role in influencing issues affecting them and their communities, through improving skills, knowledge and capacity and supporting other community led initiatives. Particularly proposals that:

  • help local communities to build confidence, knowledge, ambition and the capacity to secure resources and implement projects which improve their quality of life, their social, environmental, economic and cultural development, and their sense of local identity
  • encourage and promote activities in accordance with local and strategic community plans
  • support projects and activities that conserve, record, value, understand and celebrate local natural and cultural heritage, including traditional skills
  • encourage and support wider intellectual and physical access to cultural events and activities
  • help communities develop multiple uses of their local environment for wider community benefit.
