This table shows the regional priorities relevant to the region you have selected.
Each regional priority has a unique code (column one) which will help you to identify your selected priorities when completing your Statement of Intent/Proposal.
The detailed description (column two) has been provided to help you understand the implications and outcomes being sought by each priority.
The package numbers (column three) will help you to cross reference those relevant packages to the regional priority you have selected, with the full list of packages detailed on the right hand side of the page.
Regional Priority Code | Water and Soils priorities | Relevant Packages |
CLY16 | Reduced diffuse pollution from rural land uses. Particularly proposals that - reduce diffuse pollution adjacent to water bodies categorised as '1a' (at risk) and enhance their 'good ecological status' according to SEPA's published guidance
- involve collaborative proposals in water catchments which address pollution issues
- address diffuse pollution risks identified through nutrient budgeting and/or a soils and water plan
- retention of measures which have contributed to reduced diffuse pollution under previous agri-environment schemes.

CLY17 | Improved water quality of surface water and ground water bodies supported by a 'Soils and Water Plan', with priority given to actions in Nitrate Vulnerable Zones, Bathing Water Catchments and Drinking Water Protected Areas. Particularly proposals that: - address water quality risks identified through nutrient budgeting and/or a soils and water plan
- pollution prevention measures, particularly in relation to pesticides, sheep dip and slurry or manure spreading
- Installation of constructed farm wetlands to treat lightly contaminated run-off from farm steadings (i.e to reduce load on existing slurry storage facilities)
- Proposals that contribute significantly to improved surface water and ground water quality adjacent to or within bathing water catchments, drinking water protected areas or water bodies classified as being at less than good ecological status.

CLY18 | By 2015, achieve good ecological status of water bodies which are currently classified as being at a lesser status. This can be achieved through priorities identified in River Basin Management Plans. Particularly proposals: - for forest management action in and adjacent to water bodies classified as being at less than good ecological status
- that implement priority actions within the Clyde River Basin Management Plan
- that conserve and enhance riparian habitats, e.g. river bank woodlands and wet grasslands.
| 27-30 |
CLY19 | 19. Sustainable flood management and reduced flood risk (including adaptation to climate change), through appropriate land management, particularly actions identified in River Basin Management Plans. Particularly proposals that: - include drainage schemes, where consideration is given to addressing flooding at a catchment level. Proposals must contribute to reduced flood risk as identified in the Clyde River Basin Management Plan and any Flood Alleviation Schemes, such as the White Cart Flood Alleviation Scheme
- develop and existing woodlands in support of the work of the Scottish Government's Flooding Issues Advisory Committee
| 32 |
CLY20 | 20. Improved protection in areas identified as most at risk from erosion, flooding, acidification and nitrate pollution, through appropriate management of existing habitats (e.g. low impact silvicultural systems in woodland) or the creation of appropriate habitats (e.g. floodplains and along river edges), or organic conversion or maintenance. Particularly proposals that: - mitigate the impact of acidification through catchment-based assessments as identified under the Forest and Water Guidelines
- improve protection in areas identified as most at risk from erosion in all river catchments or where these are identified through any of the planning processes mentioned in 18 and 19 above.
