Protected species

You should contact your local SNH area office for advice if you have a protected species (including plants and badgers) on your land and your LMO activities could have a potential impact on them or their resting places.

SNH can advise whether or not a licence is required and who is the relevant licensing authority.

Further details on the legislation, offences and licensing authorities can be found in the SNH guide, Scotland's Wildlife: The Law and You.
