As part of the development of the SRDP, the Scottish Government launched The Strategic Plan consultation on 8 February 2006. This consultation asked for views on the key themes and priorities for the Rural Development Strategy for Scotland and ended on 29 March 2006.
The Strategic Plan for Scotland forms part of the UK National Strategic Plan, which has been submitted to the European Commission under the Rural Development Regulation (1698/2005).
The Scottish National Rural Network (SNRN) of rural stakeholders and practitioners is one of four UK country networks which link together at UK level and, as such, fulfil Scotland's obligation under SRDP.
